The valley boasts majestic and beautiful waterfalls after going through a 0.75-mile walk surrounded by nature.

Waimea’s waterfall, also known as Wailele, is one of the big highlights you can look forward to when visiting Waimea Valley. It is a stunning 30-feet waterfall that cascades down into a large pool of water below. Cliff diving is not allowed when you visit the waterfalls. However, you can enjoy a good and refreshing swim in its waters, as there are lifeguards among the premises of the waterfall to ensure everyone’s safety.

Going on a hike in the valley is also a cultural experience, as you can spot and explore the portraits of the past Hawaiian monarchy. You can also see which ancient tools and instruments were once used in the daily life of Hawaiian culture. Besides this, there are also a series of reconstructed Hawaiian houses or Hales. These houses feature different stages and materials along the side trails of the valley.

Another thing you can look forward to when visiting Waimea Valley in Oahu is their botanical garden park. The valley is well-known for its wide variety of tropical plants. As the place is often visited by rain due to its tropical climate, rare plant species are abundant. However, you won’t need to worry if it rains as there are covered benches that can provide shelter.
